Convertigo salesforces demo thumb

This demo will show you a portal integration of several Convertigo widgets interacting with each other.

Demo Synopsis

This demo will show you the power of Enterprise Mashups by creating a new composite application from existing applications. For this demo, we chose some existing sample applications such as:
  • A SaaS application, SalesForce (http://www.salesforce.com)
  • A standard Web application not providing APIs, USdirectory (www.usdirectory.com)
  • A legacy application, an in house developed ERP running on IBM iSeries (AS/400) displaying a “green screen” user interface
  • A Web application providing APIs, Google Maps.

The goal of the demo is to show a lead qualification process. Assume some leads are inserted in Salesforce, but the street address is not correctly set up. The user will have the opportunity to check the street address using USdirectory and to reinsert back the data in SalesForce. Then, when the lead is qualified, he will have the opportunity to insert the lead in the Legacy ERP running on the iSeries.

Demo operation sequence

Convertigo Studio local demo

When the studio launch is complete, you should have the Eclipse studio opened with the left pane containing 5 projects: demo_legacyCRM, demo_mashup, demo_SalesForce, demo_usDirectory and lib_GoogleMaps.Do not quit the Studio as it will act as a Convertigo Server for the demonstration.
Click on the following url to connect to the Convertigo Studio Projects page: http://localhost:18080/convertigo Then, click on the demo mashup button from the left menu to access the Convertigo mashup demo.

Convertigo Cloud demo

Click on the following url to connect to the Demo page in demo Convertigo Cloud: http://demo.convertigo.net/cems Then, click on the demo mashup button from the left menu to access the Convertigo mashup demo.

Convertigo Cloud and Convertigo Studio demos

In both cases, you should have the first page of the mashup displayed with the Login on SalesForce widget and the Demo initialization widget. The Login on SalesForce widget should run and give back the result with your connected information. You are now connected to SalesForce. The Demo initialization widget should be displayed on the right. This widget allows you to optionally run the demo initialization which resets SalesForce leads database. Beware that clicking on the Initialize button will temporarily empty the SalesForce account data, before filling them again. This may cause the failure of the demo for other users as the SalesForce account is common for all demo users. To go on with the demo, click on the Continue button.
If you clicked the Initialize button, this action will initialize the SalesForce account populating it with sample data. Wait till the widget finishes its work. (May take a few minutes.)You can monitor Convertigo activity by viewing the studio’s window. Be sure to click on the SalesForceConnector tab to view SalesForce activity.
When the initialization widget finishes its work, or if you clicked the Continue button, you will be automatically directed to the mashup page. You should have the 4 widgets displayed on the page.
You are now connected to the mashup of all the applications we introduced.
Now you can:
  • Use the Leads on SalesForce widget, you can sort on columns (1), or use the search box to find leads. You can also click on a lead to open it.
  • Click on the Question icon (2). This will launch a widget interaction to link the lead you clicked to USdirectory. USdirectory will retrieve the street address of the target lead.
  • In the Search on USdirectory widget if you click the SalesForce icon (3), the data will be re-injected back to SalesForce. If you click the GoogleMap icon (4), the address will be displayed in the Google Map widget.
  • In the Leads on SalesForce widget, if you click the ERP icon (5), the lead will be inserted in the legacy ERP application. (Beware, due to limitations in the demo as the iSeries application is simulated, this will only work once by demo session).
