I'm searching how to debug in Convertigo Studio. In the Connector view, when the "Output" tab is selected, we can see several buttons that seem to be useful for debugging:

  • Renew the connector

  • Refresh connector content

  • Debug mode

  • Continuous debug mode

  • Pause the debug process

  • Step by step debug mode

  • Generate XML

  • Stop the current transaction

  • Generate XSL

However, in the document I found about the description of the views (www.convertigo.com/docs/CWI/5.2.0/ae1013047.html), I cannot find a description of these buttons.

Is there any improved version or another document describing the buttons, or else may you provide that information in the forum?

Thanks a lot,
Luis

Hi Luis,

The buttons you are speaking about are only for the Legacy (Mainframe, AS/400) connectors. The HTML connector does not provide these buttons.

"Debugging" for Legacy connectors is mainly executing the the extraction rules one by one to see the effect on the connectors's blocks.

This feature is not available and useless for HTML connector.

For Debugging in html connector we suggest that you use the log.debug statement to output in the logs any data you would like to be printed. The best debug tool is the log viewer and the "output" tab showing what data was extracted from the html pages.

We also suggest you use the "test cases" to set up fixed input variables to your transaction/sequences. this will help you run the transaction with different values in test cases and check the transaction flow.

Hope this helps !
