C-EMS 5.0

Convertigo Releases Version 5.0 of its Enterprise Mashup Server for the Deployment of Legacy and Web Applications Mashups in the Cloud

Paris, February 17, 2010 - Convertigo, publisher of Enterprise Mashups is ushering in a new order in the world of Enterprise mashups with the launching of the first and only platform able to rapidly deploy Legacy and Web applications Mashups in the Cloud. It has announced the release of version 5.0 of its flagship product Convertigo Enterprise Mashup Server (C-EMS), which includes a free version.

The main new feature of the new C-EMS 5.0 version is the ability to deploy the mashups in the Cloud. To do this, Convertigo relies on Amazon EC2 technology, a major player in Cloud Computing. Therefore, users of C-EMS 5.0 can take advantage of all the power, reliability and flexibility of Amazon EC2.

Recognized on the market as one of the most accomplished platforms in designing and executing Enterprise Mashups, the C-EMS platform is now also easier to deploy and administer. With the Cloud, Convertigo users are freed of significant technical constraints in terms of production startup and mashup monitoring. With this new version, the deployment of Web services and composite applications is both accelerated and facilitated.  This is a major advantage for both IT departments and business users seeking increased agility.

First of all, users can instantly and freely publish their mashups in the "Convertigo Shared Cloud". This is a test space where new composite applications can be rapidly validated. It is then possible to directly transfer validated mashups into the “Convertigo Private Cloud’’, a partitioned and secured space that guarantees high-level performance and SLA.  Enterprises can then decide to upgrade progressively according to their needs as well as easily manage exceptional load peaks.

“This elastic configuration, online and on-demand, is fundamental for both developers and for mashup business users.  The subscription business model means enterprises can adjust investments according to expected returns,” explains Olivier Picciotto, CEO of Convertigo. “Companies whowant to can also continue to deploy and administer their Convertigo servers themselves in their traditional environment as well as create mixed configurations combining Cloud Computing and on-premises servers.”

Above and beyond the Cloud, version 5.0 also provides a set of new functionalities that accelerate and simplify mashup development and management, including a new execution engine, an administration interface and optimized monitoring - and even a latest-generation visual composition tool.

The Convertigo C-EMS 5.0 solution is available in three versions:

  • Free of charge without SLA, called Convertigo Shared Cloud
  • With a subscription/rental agreement that can evolve on request with SLA, called “Convertigo Private Cloud”
  • With a traditional corporate license

Developers can also download Studio Convertigo free of charge on the new Convertigo site, giving them the possibility to create their own mashables such as Widgets, XML feeds, SOAP or REST Web Services from any Web site or legacy application green screen.
