B2C Application

Context and Challenge

Bookplanet is an application that aims to encourage people (specifically students) to enjoy reading. From the scan of an ISBN, the application offers a lot of information about the book:

Biography of the author
News (audio and written press)
Video content
Reader’s opinions

The objective was to completely redesign the existing application and thus internalize the process and regain control on the application development.

Mission and Solution

The back-end features of the Low code Convertigo platform were used to create a library of millions of books, as well as to query all information related to the books (API calls and integration of external databases).

A UX/UI redesign was carried out by Warren Walter to simplify the user journey and its implementation was faster thanks to Low code.

Benefits obtained

The project was conducted, including project management, in 2/3 months with a more advanced UX/UI redesign.

All the back office was realized with Baserow, making the application much more flexible on the client side, the latter having control on the customization of its application without additional development cost.
Installed on an OVH cloud, the application, through Docker and Kubernetes, is scalable to thousands of users, supporting peak connections.

If a book is not found, the request from 4 different APIs including BNF, updates the internal database automatically.
